NORTH ELLSWORTH – Lewis G. “Lewie” Romer, 63, died July 21, 2005, at an MDI healthcare facility. He was born March 1, 1942, in Brewer, the son of Herman G. and Janet (Farmer) Romer. Lewie was an LP gas technician for 40 years and worked for many area companies, retiring from Irving Oil Co. He also owned and operated his own gas business for over 20 years. Lewie was a member of the Ellsworth Lions Club. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beatrice “Bea” (Phillips) Romer; four sons, Lewis and wife, Joanne, of Trenton, Shawn and wife, Tammy, of Mariaville, Hildreth and wife, Julie, of Otter Creek and Jason Cave and fianc?e, Sheree Veatch, of California; a daughter, Tammy Urquhart of Franklin; brother, Lawrence Romer and wife, Loretta, of Trenton; a sister, Maxine Baker and husband, Dayton, of Florida; five grandchildren, Ashton Romer, Nicole Barter, Shawn Romer, Trisha Romer and Nathaniel Roberts; several nieces, nephews and a special niece, Jamie Phillips. Friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m., Sunday, July 24, 2005, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, July 25, 2005. Interment will be at Nicolin Cemetery, North Ellsworth. A reception at Ellsworth Middle School will follow the funeral service.
