INTERLAKEN, N.Y. – Lillian C. Dekoschak, of 4016 Interlaken Beach Road, Interlaken passed away at the Hospicare Comfort Care Unit in Lakeside Nursing Home Friday, March 4, 2005, at the age of 86. Born Dec. 23, 1918, in Elmira, N.Y., Lillian was the daughter of Robert and Daisy Wells Carpenter. Most of Lillian’s life was spent in the Elmira area and Breeseport, N.Y. where she attended and sang in the Breeseport Methodist Church Choir. After the death of her husband Stephen, she moved to the Interlaken, N.Y. area to be by her daughter Christine “Tina” Leonard-Stanton. Lillian was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed gardening and reading. Most of her life was devoted to her husband of 39 years and her family. After moving to Interlaken she accepted a position with the Lucas Vineyard and was proud of her association with the Lucas family and the friends she made over the years in the area. She also enjoyed spending several winters in Arizona with her son Dennis. In addition to her parents and husband, Lillian was predeceased by two sons, Nicholas and Dennis; and two granddaughters, Kimberly and Nicole. She is survived by one daughter, Christine “Tina” (Bill) of Ithaca, N.Y.; one son, Richard (Ann) of Bangor; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen (Tom) McCarthy of Horseheads, N.Y. and Louise (Al) Thompson of Elmira, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Lillian’s wishes, no calling hours have been scheduled. A Memorial service will be scheduled and announced at a later date.
