OLD TOWN – Lillian Seymour, 90, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, while a resident of the Orono Commons long term care facility with her family members by her side. She was born Oct. 15, 1915, in Orono, the daughter of William and Christina Thibodeau. Lillian was an active member of the Orono American Legion, managing the Legion’s kitchen with her sister Virginia for many years and participating in the Legion’s activities and events. She enjoyed playing beano, sewing, knitting, reading and opera. She is survived by her sons, Roland Seymour Jr. and Wayne Seymour; her daughters, Wanda Seymour, Sheila McLeod and Judith Thayer. Lillian was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren, Shely Carmichael, Jennifer Daily, Julie Parent, daughters of Sheila, Mark Thayer, Sadie Thayer and Oliver Thayer, children of Judy, Barbra Grant, daughter of Roland, Lauren Delvecchio and Erin Whitman, daughters of Wayne. She was also the proud great-grandmother of nine, Peyton, Ryan, Sydney, Olivia, Jacqueline, Sheldon, Sam, Chloe and Chase; two sisters, Virginia Nadeau and Christine Dyer. She is the mother of seven children and her passing was preceded by her husband, Roland O. Seymour Sr. in 1986; a son, Mark in 1965; a daughter, Deanna in 1989; 13 brothers and sisters. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Holy Family Parish in Old Town, with the Rev. Rudolph Leveille, celebrant.
