CRAWFORD – Linda Athena (Cochran) Ayer, 46, died Oct. 26, 2005, at a Bangor hospital, after a long illness with her loving family at her side. She was born Jan. 4, 1959, in Farmington, the daughter of Hiram and Carol (Spooner) Cochran. She attended Cony High School, Augusta. Linda’s first love was her family. She also loved the outdoors, her flowers, her home on Love Lake, ice fishing, hunting, knitting and crafts. She loved music and would wake up every morning and would turn on her music to start her day. She worked at the Alexander School and made wreaths at the wreath factory, but mostly a homemaker. She is survived by her parents of Augusta; two daughters, Kristina Lousie Bell and her husband, Chris, of Baileyville, Katrina May Ayer of Augusta; two brothers, Charles Cochran and Sandy of Rome, Randall and his wife, Bonney, and their daughter, Diedre, of Dixfield; nephew, Dusty Cochran and his friend, Jody, of Waterville; her very good friend and companion, Phillip St. Peter; her ex-husband, Danny Ayer of Baileyville; Amanda Allen who was like a daughter and her two children of Princeton; a special close friend, Dodie Weeks and her family; and many other friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Claude “Pat” and Athena Spooner. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the staff at Calais Hospital and Eastern Maine Medical Center. A service of remembrance will be held 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the Woodland Baptist Church. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until time of the service.
