WASHBURN and CARIBOU -Lionel J. Ouellette Sr., 69, husband of Betty (Castonguay) Ouellette, died Feb. 6, 2004, at his Washburn residence. He was born March 10, 1934, in Caribou, the son of Napoleon and Flavie (Fortin) Ouellette Sr. Mr. Ouellette attended the Caribou schools, served with the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Family Christian Center. Lionel was a retired master electrician, having been employed by the Birds Eye Div. Of General Foods in Caribou for many years and more recently was employed by the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Surviving in addition to his wife, Betty, of Washburn, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Lionel and Lele Ouellette and Marvin and Karen Ouellette, all of Caribou; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Nena and Allen Huston of Woodland, Monica LaPointe and Diana and Donald Chapman, all of Caribou; two brothers, Napoleon and Fernand Ouellette, both of Caribou; one sister, Annette Knowles of Ellsworth; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Ouellette was predeceased by his parents; one daughter, Linda; a sister, Alphena Maskell; and a brother, Roland. Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at the Family Christian Center, Presque Isle, with the Rev. Brenden Bridges, pastor, officiating.
