BYFIELD – Mr. Lloyd H. Getchell Jr., 62, of Main Street, Byfield, beloved husband of Colleen (Coburn) Getchell, died Saturday, June 4, 2005, in Massachusetts General Hospital. Born Aug. 4, 1942, in Beverly, he was the son of the late Lloyd H. Sr. and Della (Libbey) Getchell. Raised and educated in Middleton, he was a graduate of Masconomet High School, Class of 1960. He continued his education at Burdett College, majoring in Accounting. A facilities engineer he was currently employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as the operations technician 1 at the District Court in Newburyport. An avid sport fan and outdoors man, Mr. Getchell loved the Red Sox, fishing, hunting and sitting under the stars. In addition to his wife of four plus years, Lloyd is survived by two daughters, Hollie A. Tolar and her husband, Steve, of Bradenton, Fla. and Amanda J. Getchell of Middleton; one son, Adam L. Getchell also of Middleton; one granddaughter, Keri Lynn Willard of Salisbury; six stepchildren, Nettieann, Dusty, Mandy, Marcus, all of Maine, Gary of New York and Noah of Byfield; three stepgrandchildren, Mackenzie, Dominic and Brendan, all of Maine and many dear friends and relatives. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, at the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., Rte. 62, Danvers, Mass. Services will be private. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Lloyd’s name to the North Shore Feline Rescue League, in Middleton.
