BREWER – Lloyd J. Mann, 89, died Oct. 13, 2007, after a period of failing health, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born April 28, 1918, in Brewer, the son of Ira and Catherine (Rowan) Mann. Lloyd was a graduate of Brewer High School and Maine School of Commerce. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Brewer. His career at Chevron Oil Co., spanned several decades. He served in World War II in the Army Air Corps, 7th Squadron, in Burma, China and India. Lloyd is survived by two nieces, Catherine and her husband, Eugene Boynton, of Brewer and Kathleen L. Mann of Bangor; two nephews, Robert Mann and his wife, Antje, of Vermont, and Frederick Mann of Nevada; great-nephews, great-nieces and their families, as well as several cousins. He is also survived by a special friend, Ann Dyer of Dedham. Lloyd was predeceased by his sister, M. Ruth Mann; three brothers, Andrew F., Robert W. and Roland W. Mann. Special appreciation is given to Phyllis Bishop for her care during his final illness. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Brewer, with the Very Rev. Richard McLaughlin, pastor, celebrant. Interment with military honors will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor, immediately after the service. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Reception Rooms, 55 South Main St., Brewer, after the interment.
