EUFAULA, Ala. – Mrs. Lois Barber Shelley, 72, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at her home. She was born Jan. 15, 1934, in Bangor, the daughter of the late Mills D. and Irene Lucas Barber. Mrs. Shelley was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Esther Sunday school class and the Tuesday morning prayer group. She retired from Washington County Community College, Calais, with more than 25 years of service. She was director of finance at the time of her retirement. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Paul J. Shelley of Eufaula, Ala.; two daughters, Diane M. Havey and husband, Richard, of Franklin, Marie E. Chism, and husband, Joseph, of Headland, Ala.; two beloved granddaughters, Melissa Havey and Cheryl Havey, both of Franklin; one brother, Theodore Barber and his wife, Lois, of San Diego; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at Chapman Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Dodson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 p.m. until the time of service Monday. Burial will be immediately after the service at Memory Gardens cemetery with Chapman Funeral Home, Eufaula, Ala., directing.
