AUGUSTA – Loretta J. “Jeannie” Sanders, 73, of Cony Street, died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta Campus, after a brief illness. She was born Feb. 19, 1933, in Guilford, a daughter of the late Glendon and Alice (Russell) Todd. Mrs. Sanders was a homemaker for most of her life and served in the U.S. Army. Mrs. Sanders was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her son, Bradley W. Sanders of Richmond, Ky.; her daughter, Jolene K. Neu and her husband, Michael, of Lexington, Ky.; three brothers, Andrew Todd of Guilford, David Todd of Athens and Russell Todd of Guilford; seven sisters, Glendine Ward of Skowhegan, Lillian Lake of Augusta, Cecile Peachey of Dexter, Hope Waye of Benton, Vyrona Cowette of Skowhegan, Dianna Davis of Parkman and Sylvia Cross of Guilford; two grandchildren, Adam Neu and Beth Ann Sanders; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting hours will be 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, where a funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
