SWANZEY, N.H. – Louis D. Preston, 45, of Old Homestead Highway, died Monday evening, Feb. 18, 2008, at Springfield Hospital, Springfield, Vt., after a sudden illness. He was born May 24, 1962, in Eastport, the son of Frank and Lucy (Keezer) Preston. He grew up in Pembroke, and resided in Maine for most of his life, moving to Swanzey, N.H., two years ago. He was a licensed master plumber in Maine and was, at the time of his death, working on obtaining his license in New Hampshire. Mr. Preston was, at the time of his death, working as a plumber with the Cheshire Medical Center, Keene, N.H. He was an avid classic car buff and enjoyed restoring old cars. He just finished restoring his third ’55 Chevy. He was very passionate and particular about his work and took great pride in his accomplishments. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a huge NASCAR fan. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Wendy (Wyckoff-Whipple) Preston, whom he married June 16, 2007; his children, Karen Small of Harrington, Robert and Ashley Preston, both of Lakeland, Fla.; his parents of Dennysville; a brother, Bradford Preston and his wife, Laurie, and their children, Brad Jr. and Kayla, all of Belfast; a sister, Joan Stevens and her husband, Dennis, and their daughter, Amy, all of Pembroke; paternal grandmother, Ethlyn Preston; nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Joshua and Daniel Whipple of Swanzey, N.H.; his mother-in-law, Brenda Davis of Newport, N.H.; his father-in-law, Hank Wyckoff of Keene, N.H.; and his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Heidi Packard of Swanzey, N.H., Elizabeth and Steven Andre of Claremont, N.H., Angela and Richard Lessard of Greenfield, N.H., and James Davis Jr. of Swanzey, N.H. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, James Davis Sr. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Mountain View Cemetery, Swanzey Center, N.H.
