DENNYSVILLE and ACRA, N.Y. – Louis J. Viscovitch, 84, died March 1, 2005, at a Calais hospital after a long illness. He was born Dec. 1, 1920, in New York City, the son of Louis F. and Ada (McCullen) Viscovitch. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was retired from Lacy’s of Catskill, N.Y. After retirement he and his wife, Caroline, moved from Acra, N.Y. to Dennysville. For many years he was associated with the Methodist Church in New York and in Maine, and was also associated with the Gideon Bible Society. He is survived by his wife, Caroline “Tudy” Viscovitch of Eastport; daughter, Patricia A. Viscovitch of Freehold, N.Y.; son, Robert E. Viscovitch and his wife, Kay, of Indianapolis, Ind.; stepson, Clifford B. Turner and his wife, Anita, of Bangor; grandson, Daniel A. Pugsley Jr. of Bangor; grand-daughters, Dawn Powell and her husband, Ralph, of Connecticut, Robin Hasse and her husband, Todd, of Albuquerque, N.M. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
