CARIBOU – Louis M. Berube 51, died unexpectedly Feb. 7, 2005, at Square Lake as the result of an accident. He was born May 27, 1953, in Hartford Conn., the son of Irenee and Veronique (Ouellette) Berube. He was a graduate of Caribou High School as well as Northern Maine Technical College. Louis was a self-employed carpenter for many years and for the past several years he was employed by Soderberg Construction. Louis was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman who truly loved being at his camp on Square Lake. Louis will always be remembered by many for his great love for his family and friends. He married Valerie Jean (Smith) Berube on Dec. 13, 1999. Surviving in addition to his wife and his mother, both of Caribou; are his son, Marc Berube and his fianc?, Tabitha, of Gray; his daughter, Melanie Berube of Portland, a stepdaughter, Dawn Corey of Presque Isle; four half brothers, Joe Ferris of South China, Michael Gray of Texas, Kurt Gray of California and Carl Gray of Florida; two sisters, Linda Schmole of Colorado and Ann Wendlan of Oregon; two stepgrandchildren, Andrew and Ariana Corey; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at the Chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Myron Powell, officiating.
