FREEPORT – Louise E. Arnold of Freeport and formerly of New Canaan, Conn., passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, surrounded by her children at the Freeport Nursing Home. She was born Jan. 10, 1918, in Corvallis, Ore. and recently celebrated her 88th birthday with her family. She was a graduate of Syracuse University with a bachelor’s of fine arts (BFA). She married Dr. Kenneth A. Arnold on June 13, 1942 and they lived in Berlin, N.H., Oswego and Watertown, N.Y., and moved to New Canaan, Conn. in 1957. She was known for her watercolor paintings and oil portraits including those of her husband and children. She is survived by her daughter, Linda MacMillan and her husband, Bruce, of Phippsburg; her son, Gary Arnold and his wife, Carol, of Veazie; her four grandchildren, Samantha Hall and her husband, Jeff, of Bangor, Sara and Amy Arnold of Middletown, Conn., and Mathew Arnold of Orono; and her great-granddaughter, Emma Hall of Bangor. A memorial service will be held in April in Connecticut.
