ORONO and OLD TOWN – Louise E. Pelkey, 87, wife of the late Lawrence “Hup” Pelkey, died peacefully Dec. 12, 2004, at an Orono healthcare facility. She was born May 15, 1917, in Orono, a daughter of Maxim and Delcina (DesJardins) DeRosier. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Holy Family Parish, a member of the Ladies of St. Anne, and a member of the Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by two nephews, Norman Dubay of Tucson, Ariz. and Lionel Dubay of Gainesville, Fla.; two nieces, Carole Treadwell of Orono and Barbara Hersey of Milford. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence; a brother, Gerald DeRoiser; and a sister, Edith Dubay Hersey. A special thank you to the staff at Orono commons for their wonderful care. At her request there will be no services. A graveside service at Riverside Cemetery, Orono will be announced in the spring.
