MILLINOCKET and BANGOR – Louise Irene Jardine, 95, passed away March 15, 2006, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born March 5, 1911, in Brewer, to Walter F. Smith and Maud (McLeod) Smith. She was the second child of 10. She married Paul Ernest Jardine Sept. 21, 1929, in Greenville. She attended schools in Chesuncook Village and Greenville. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1929. She was a past noble grand of IOOF of the Rebecca Lodge in Millinocket, a member of the East Millinocket Garden Club and a life member of the Eastern Star. She was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. She enjoyed and excelled in many hobbies including pistol shooting, sewing, hooking and canning. She is survived by a son, Walter Jardine and his wife, Roberta, of Eliot; two daughters, Paula and her husband, David Bartlett, of East Millinocket, and Joan Dickinson of Millinocket, 10 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Irma Johnson of Shawmut, Anne Spriet and her husband, Don, of Greenville and Dawn Sanders of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, Roy Smith and his wife, Ethel, of Princeton, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Ernest Jardine; four sisters, Hilda Bartley Gauvin, Inda Gary Kobel, Lenore Pritham and Maxine Wallace; one brother, Paul Smith; one son-in-law, Robert Dickinson; and granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Bartlett. At her request there will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in Greenville at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
