PORTLAND – Louise Joy died Jan. 5, 2007, at Mercy Hospital, Portland, after a short illness. She was born June 24, 1921, in Harrington, the daughter of Clara Huntley and Goodwin Mitchell. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Gouldsboro. Surviving are her daughter, Beverly Pinkham and husband, Dale Griffin, of Lewiston; son, Paul Joy and his wife, Linda, of Gouldsboro; also 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Joy; sons, George and Jack; and brothers, Alfred and Richard Mitchell. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at West Bay Cemetery, Gouldsboro. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Methodist Church of Gouldsboro, P.O. Box 101, Prospect Harbor, ME 04669. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
