SEBRING, Fla. and BANGOR Lucie F. Lackedy, died Friday, May 13, 2005, at Brewer Rehab and Living Center after a brief illness. She was born June 12, 1918, in Bangor. She is the daughter of George and Nellie Lackedy. Lucie was a Bangor resident and lived in Sebring, Fla. for the past 13 years. Lucie was a graduate of Bucksport High School, attended the University of Maine and Husson College. She was presented an honorary associate of science degree, in 1996 by Husson College. A World War II veteran of the Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Forces during the Korean War. She was employed at many posts including England, Germany, Presque Isle Air Force Base and Dow Air Force Base in Bangor. Lucie retired from Diamond Int’l to enjoy traveling and camping. Lucie was a well-known artist belonging to the Bangor Art Society. Lucie was an avid CB’er, using the call name “Lady Painter.” She was a life member of DHV, NARFE, NAFCA, life member of Good Sam Club, life member of Felicity Lodge, AARP, PVH Campground, Senior Citizens, 50 year member of Floral Grange. Her sister-in-law, Evelyn Lackedy; her nephew and his wife, Keith and Connie Lackedy of Brewer; their children, Kimberly McCormick, Carol Lackedy and Christina Larrabee, Harold Lacadie and family from Old Town, will sadly miss her. Lucie was predeceased by her parents, George and Nellie Lackedy; and her brothers, Charles J. Lackedy and Almond N. Lackedy. A memorial service to remember Lucie will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2005, at North Bucksport Methodist Church. The internment will follow at the Riverview Cemetery. Her family would like to thank the staff of Brewer Rehab and Living Center for all of the “TLC” given to Lucie.
