HAMPDEN – Lucille Wallwork Clifton, 87, passed away of natural causes to her heavenly Father the morning of Aug. 4, 2006. Mrs. Clifton was born Sept. 17, 1918, in Ogden, Utah, to Lucille Anderson and David Edward Wallwork. Mrs. Clifton attended Utah State University from 1936 to 1938. She left Utah in 1943, with her sister, Molly Jeanne to join the U.S. Navy in Washington, D.C., where she met her husband. Upon the conclusion of World War II she resided with her husband in the Washington, D.C. area for nearly 60 years. Mrs. Clifton was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She volunteered at several organizations including Travelers Aid. In 2002, she moved to Hampden, where she established many close friends. Her beloved husband of 57 years, Guy Parker Clifton Jr. predeceased her in 2001. Mrs. Clifton is survived by a daughter, Jane Anderson Clifton of Rockville, Md.; son, Guy Parker Clifton III; and daughter-in-law, Sandra Dick Clifton of Ogden, Utah; granddaughters, Maren Clifton Cupit of Baton Rouge, La. and Paige Anderson Clifton of Ogden, Utah; great-grand-daughter, Laurel Elizabeth Cupit; great-grandson, Brant Michael Cupit, of Baton Rouge, La.; and sister, Molly Jeanne Newington of Sacramento, Calif.
