SURRY – Lurlene B. Fowler, 87, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 31, 1920, in West Tremont, the daughter of the late Edward and Beatrice (Seavey) Black. She was the wife of the late Charles Fowler, who passed away April 2000, after 60 years of marriage. Lurlene provided nearly 30 years of volunteer service at Courtland Rehab & Living Center, Ellsworth. She enjoyed ice fishing, camping and snowmobiling. She is survived by her son, Donald Fowler and wife, Pearl, of Surry; daughter, Shirley St. Ours and husband, Richard, of Millersville, Md.; sister, Patricia Hamor and husband, Steve, of Northeast Harbor; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Lurlene was predeceased by brothers, Richard and Fred Black. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth.
