BRENTWOOD, N.H. – M. Jean (Newell) Estabrooke, 89, of Brentwood, N.H., formerly of Plymouth and Hyde Park, Mass., died Feb. 6, 2004, at Rockingham County Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 24, 1914, in Fuchien, China, the daughter of the late George M. Newell and Mary (Reynolds) Newell. She attended nursing school at New England Hospital for Women and Children in Roxbury. She graduated as a registered nurse, and attended Park College in Missouri. As a registered nurse she worked mostly at nursing homes. She lived in New Hampshire for two years, coming from Plymouth and Hyde Park, Mass. She was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting and volunteer work. She was a member of the Church Women United. She was the wife of the late Bruce W. Estabrooke. She is survived by her son, Neil A. and his wife, Joyce, of Stetson; her daughter, Ellen Harnden and her husband, John, of Nottingham, N.H.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. There are no visiting hours. Services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to the Rockingham County Nursing Home, 117 North Road, Brentwood, NH 03833.
