DIXMONT and BANGOR Mabel Faustina Gould, 90, passed away, July 19, 2004, at a Brewer healthcare facility. She was born March 9, 1914, in Dixmont, the daughter of Elmer and Estelle (Bachelder) Gould. Mabel had lived in Dixmont and Bangor for many years, and was a private duty nurses aide for many years. She was a former member of the East Dixmont Community Church and attended Columbia Street Baptist Church. Mabel was a very talented lady with crafts. She enjoyed crocheting and making braided and hooked rugs, which she sold or gave to her family and friends that will be forever treasured. She was predeceased by her parents; three sisters, Florence Ekblad, Lewene Gould and Lela Gould; and two brothers, Raymond and Chester Gould. Mabel is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting hours will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Peter K. Sprague, pastor of Columbia Street Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the family lot at Harmony Place Cemetery, Monroe.
