HOULTON – Madeline Bither, 84, died Dec. 25, 2006, at a local health care facility. She was born April 7, 1922, in Houlton, the daughter of Harry B. and Ola (Huggard) Brewer. Madeline was a 1940 graduate of Houlton High School. After graduation, she went to work as a secretary for Aroostook General Hospital and later for attorney Nathan Soloman until her retirement. She was a member of the Houlton United Methodist Church and a past member of the Houlton Community Golf Course. She is survived by her son, Gordon H. Bither II of Boston; her sister, Margaret Rhoda of Houlton; brother-in-law, Fred A. Bither of Falmouth and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Gordon H. Bither. Friends may call at the Dunn Funeral Home Thursday 10 a.m. until the time of service 11 a.m. with the Rev. Naomi Sam’Kpakra officiating.
