CARMEL – Constance Wilcox Parent, 85, passed away Dec. 26, 2006, with her loving family by her side at a Bangor health care facility. She was born May 5, 1921, in Barre, Vt., the daughter of Ralph and Eva (Jackson) Wilcox. Constance attended Newport High School and Randolph Vermont School of Nursing. She worked 30 years for New England Telephone and Telegraph, at Bangor Mental Health Institute and Taylor Hospital until her retirement. Constance greatly enjoyed the summers at camp on Barrows Point, Newport. She was active in the Carmel Union Congregational Church. She is survived by two sons, Gordon “Skip” Parent and wife, Debby, of Hampden and Ernald Parent and wife, Brenda, of Beaufort, S.C.; a sister, Sarah Simpson of Carmel; a special niece, Roberta Perley of Carmel; a special nephew, John Simpson and wife, Doreen, of Exeter; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family thanks the entire staff of Ross Manor for the warm personal care that Constance received.
