TULSA, Okla. – Manley Stephen Webb, 80, a retired business executive and naval officer, died Jan. 8, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. He was the husband of 59 years to Gloria Carson Webb. Born in Belfast, a son of the late John H. and Myra (Bunny) Webb, he lived in Tulsa since 1981, most recently at the Montereau. Mr. Webb was an executive with the Westinghouse Elevator Company for 20 years, after retiring from 26 years of service with the U.S. Navy. An Eagle Scout, valedictorian of his Newport High School class and graduate of the Bangor, Maine School of Commerce, he joined the Navy in 1943, included tours of duty in England during World War II and on the presidential yacht, The USS Williamsburg, for President Truman. A 52-year Mason, 32nd Degree, Shriner, licensed Methodist preacher, scout leader, Silver Beaver recipient and lieutenant colonel in the civil air patrol, Mr. Webb was a model citizen, family, naval officer and patriot. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen R. and Diane Webb of Massachusetts; and son and daughter-in-law, Thomas J. and Donna S. Webb and their children, Ashleigh, Thomas J. II and Lindsay J. Webb of Michigan. Mr. Webb will be buried at sea. Donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army or the Alzheimer’s Association.
