PORTLAND – Marshall Edward Hall, 62, of Windham, died unexpectedly, Jan. 8, 2006. Born Jan. 13, 1943, in Englewood, N.J., the son of A. Edward Hall and Margaret Soper Hall. The love of his family meant everything to him. He was a cherished husband, father and grandfather. He was a loyal and devoted friend. His sense of humor was legendary. His calm demeanor and incredible insight drew people to him. He will forever live through us. His legacy of love will live in all of those he touched. Marshall was valedictorian and class president of the Old Town High School, Class of 1961. He was a Sigma Chi fraternity brother at the University of Maine, Orono, where he graduated with a mechanical engineering degree in 1965. He began his career at Fairchild Semiconductor before spending many years at Data General and the Chapman Company recently, he was the director of operations at Artel. Besides his mother of Old Town, he leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Janice (Julian) Hall; two adoring daughters, Jennifer and her husband, Nelson Breton, of Windham, Kimberly and her husband, Peter Skvorak, of Windham; one devoted son, Michael and his wife, Sherri Hall, of Newmarket, N.H.; six treasured grandchildren, Danielle and Benjamin Breton, Nathan and Katherine Skvorak and Ryan and Tyler Hall. He is also survived by one sister, Jeannine Peters of Bangor and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at St. Patrick’s Church, 1342 Congress St., Portland. Private interment will follow in Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 343 Gorham Rd., South Portland, ME 04106, in Mr. Hall’s memory.
