LINCOLN – Manley W. Taylor, 78, passed away Dec. 30, 2005, at a Lincoln healthcare facility. He was born July 13, 1927, in Mt. Rose, Pa., the son of Augustus and Minnie (Burrill) Taylor. Manley was the youngest chef ever to work at the University of Maine and was a chef at many places in the Bar Harbor area. He owned and operated his own bakery in Lincoln at one time and worked as a meat cutter at Giguere’s Super Market for a while. He was truly a jack-of-all-trades. For many years, he owned and operated Taylor’s Boarding Home on Taylor Street in Lincoln. He attended the Full Gospel Tabernacle on Fleming Street in Lincoln. Manley is survived by five children, Vernon and Debbie Taylor, Norman and DeeDee Taylor, Pamela and Dana Dill, Phyllis and James Hanscom, all of Lincoln and Robin McAllister of Fredericton, N.B.; the mother of his children, Doris Taylor of Lincoln; a sister, Mary Schneidmiller of Calais; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Carl Taylor; and a sister, Algena Burrill. Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at the Full Gospel Tabernacle, Fleming Street, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Monday, at the church, with the Rev. Jack Stewart, officiating. Spring interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Full Gospel Tabernacle.
