WINDSOR, Colo., and HANCOCK – Marc A. Pomroy, 45, passed away Feb. 9, 2008, at hospice with family at his side. He was born Sept. 17, 1962, in Bangor, the son of Marcia and Edward Pomroy. He was educated in Maine schools and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1980. He attended Drew University and later the University of Northern Colorado, where he majored in geography. Marc worked in several restaurants in Maine, Florida, and Washington, D.C., over the years, and enjoyed cooking and experimenting with new recipes. He enjoyed entertaining fri-ends and relatives. Marc also enjoyed skiing, golf, playing cards and travel. He is survived by his partner of 17 years, Dick Harlow of Windsor, Colo.; his parents, Marcia and Kendall Stratton; and grandmother, Florence Belliveau of Hancock; his aunt, Ruth Butters and her husband, Richard, of Ellsworth; six brothers and sisters, Daniel, Teri, David, Lori, Kenny and Jean; a very special cousin, Sandra Dow of Bar Harbor; cousins, Bobbie, Patty, Roy, Gwen, Scott and Eric; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Edward Pomroy of Bar Harbor; his grandfather, Robert Pinkham of North Carolina; his grandfather, Nelson Belliveau; and grandparents, Cassie and Ted Pomroy, all of Hancock. The family would like to thank the staff in the medical unit at Poudre Valley Hospital, as well as all the great people at Hospice of Larimer County at McKee Hospital. A memorial service and burial of ashes will take place at a later date.
