BANGOR, BREWER and WESTBROOK – Margaret A. Grant, 88, died peacefully Dec. 13, 2006, at a Westbrook health care facility. She was born Sept. 7, 1918, in Bangor, the daughter of Arthur and Annie E. Reeves Margaret graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1936. She waitressed at Freezes Department Store for many years. Margaret enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with her husband, Millard and was known to be a good shot. She was a very friendly and compassionate person and liked helping others. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, great-grand-mother and friend, and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, baby Arthur; her loving husband, Millard; three sisters, Rena Morse, Dorothy Gray and Frances Leland. She is survived by three daughters, Ethelyne Batson and husband, Edwin, of Connecticut, Juanita Valeriani of Westbrook and Linda Wilber and husband, Barry, of Florida; eight grandchildren, Bruce Batson of Connecticut, Donna Woods of Maryland, Millard Valeriani of Florida, Brian Valeriani of Biddeford, Timothy Valeriani of Gorham, Cindy Melanson of Maryland, Wendy Cutler of North Carolina and Barry Wilber Jr. of North Carolina; 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to visit with the family noon-1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where funeral services will begin 1 p.m., with the Rev. Richard Wrentzel officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Receptions Rooms, 55 South Main St., Brewer, after the interment.
