HOWLAND – Margaret A. Sage, 79, wife of the late Kermit Sage, died Dec. 22, 2003, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born in Perham, Nov. 21, 1924, the daughter of David and Gladys (Blackstone) Abbott. Margaret worked at Irving Tanning Co. in Howland until it closed. She then worked at the Riverside Nursing Home and earned her Certified Nurses Aide certificate. She continued working there when it moved to Crocker St. Ext. until her retirement. Margaret was a loving mother, sister and wife. She loved her pets and her vegetable garden. She is survived by a son, Paul Sage and his wife, Joan, of Howland; a daughter, Vicki Tapley and her husband, Robert, of Glenburn; a brother, Walter Abbott and his wife, Mildred, of Thomaston; two sisters, Dorothy Greene and her husband, Max, of W. Lebanon, N.H., and Evelyn Jordan and her husband, Alan, of Elmwood, Conn.; two grandsons, Carl Bowers of Old Town, and Glendon K. Bowers of Medford; four great-grandchildren, Ashley Gregory, Taylor Bowers, Courtney Bowers and Hunter Bowers; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Kermit, she was predeceased by her mother and father; step-father, Charles Cray; a sister, Violet Cray Davey; and a great-grandson, Zachary Bowers.
