BLUE HILL – Margaret Lynn Frost Rogers, 67, wife of James H. Rogers, died of a pulmonary embolism at a Blue Hill hospital, June 13, 2005. She had been diagnosed with cancer of the brain and lung in early April. She was born in Kenosha, Wis., the daughter of Morton and Edith Frost. After graduating from Kemper Hall (1956) and the University of Colorado (1959), she moved to New York City where she taught at The Collegiate School. At Collegiate she met her future husband of 41 years. They raised three daughters in Providence, R.I. where Margaret ran The Rhode Island Needleworks and James was the Director of Admission at Brown University. In 1988 they moved to Lucca, Italy and after six years returned to Castine, where the family had spent every summer. Mr. Rogers’ grandfather was born in Castine in 1875. Surviving are the three daughters, Whitney Rogers Schofield of New York City and her two children, Robert Hayden III (three) and Olivia Frost (11 months); Elizabeth Rogers Rathborne and her two children, James Preston (eight) and Charlotte Elizabeth (six), and Jessica Rogers Mellon. There will be a private family graveside service Saturday, June 18, at the family plot in the Castine Cemetery. This will be followed by a public memorial service at 1 p.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church on Perkins Street in Castine. Immediately after the service, there will be a celebration of Margaret’s life at The Castine Harbor Lodge across the street from the Trinity Episcopal Church.
