GLENBURN – Margaret Jean Stewart, 53, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005. Maggie courageously battled breast cancer for many years. She succumbed to her illness at a Bangor hospital, surrounded by her loved ones. Maggie was the daughter of the late Jean Elizabeth Carroll and her husband, William P. Carroll Sr. Born on her mother’s 19th birthday, Maggie arrived Nov. 11, 1951, in New York City, and she died on the anniversary of her mother’s passing, which was Aug. 10, 1983. She was raised in City Island Section of the Bronx. She graduated from St. Helena’s High School, with a Regent’s Diploma. Maggie then worked for the New York Telephone Company, where she was a manager. After visiting Maine, Maggie soon decided to move to Maine permanently. In April 1980, Maggie began working at EMMC in the Medical Records Department. She considered her job a blessing for she loved her work and her co-workers. Maggie’s latest position was as a lead coder. Maggie held many positions including time as a coding supervisor. She held C.C.S. and C.P.C. credentials. She was a member of both AHIMA and MEHIMA. She was also a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders. Maggie enjoyed her time on the lake with her family and friends. She loved outings with the crew at the Bagel Shop, Bingo, Beach, BBQ’s and much more. Maggie loved the outdoors, fishing, animals, and all of life’s simple pleasures. She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Stewart; daughter, Janice (Stewart) and her husband, Daniel Farrington, and her beloved grandchildren, Codi-Ann and Drew, of Baltimore, Md., where Dan is stationed as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard; her two “angel” daughters, Kathryn “Katie” Elizabeth Stewart, Constance “Connie” Rose Stewart, both of Glenburn; brothers and sisters, James Carroll of Baldwin, N.Y., Alice Carroll of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., William P. Carroll Jr. of Utica, N.Y., Jeannie Carroll of Ormand Beach, Fla., Neil Carroll of Bronx, N.Y., and Eileen Carroll of Bangor; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. Maggie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today, Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005.
