LAKELAND, Fla. and HOLDEN – Margaret Mary Goodspeed, 80, beloved wife of the late Fred A. Goodspeed, has gone to join the angles and the Lord, Jan. 17, 2007, in Lakeland, Fla., after a long illness. Born Dec. 9, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Less and Rose Hardgrove. Margaret attended Brewer schools and was a member of the Holden Congregational Church. In life, her family was her everything. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister. She loved the Lord and her church. She also loved and enjoyed her friends, camping, baking, sewing, square dancing, the ocean and traveling. She was a photo colorist for Stephen Studio’s and was employed by Sylvania for 25 years until her retirement. Margaret is survived by her loving daughters, Freda J. Gass and husband, Robert, and Barbara J. Carpenter and husband, John; grandchildren, Fred A. Kenney Sr. and Gina, and Joanie L. Pooler and husband, David; great-grandchildren, Fred. A. Kenney Jr. and Heaven A. Rogerson; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joe and George Cantwell; and one sister, Mary Ann West. A memorial service and interment will be held in the spring. A place and time will be announced at a later date.
