ELLSWORTH – Marguerite Mae Hamblen, 69, died May 12, 2004, at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, after a short illness. She was born May 3, 1935, in Southwest Harbor, the daughter of Hilt and Jessie (Beal) Hamblen. Marguerite helped make a difference in many lives with hours of counseling and being there for all. She had a love for quilting, knitting of sweaters and mittens and many other items “By Maude.” She is survived by a sister, Wilma and husband, Charles Turner, of Stonington; sons, Eric and wife, Cindy Bernstein of Lacrosse, Wis., Aaron Bernstein, of Ellsworth; daughter, Johna and husband, Jim Barkhouse, of Ellsworth; and six grandchildren. Visitation hours will be held 1-2 p.m. Sunday, May 16, at the Fernald Funeral Chapel, 139 Main St., Mount Desert, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Gifts in Marguerite’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
