MADAWASKA – Marianne Gagnon Thibodeau, 88, passed away Oct. 8, 2006, surrounded by her family in Van Buren. She was born July 2, 1918, in Van Buren, the daughter of Bruno and Ann (Madore) Gagnon. Marianne worked at High View Manor for more than 25 years, where she returned to work after retirement. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Ann. She was also a member of the ladies bowling league for many years and enjoyed the sport, as well as the companionship of friends. Marianne loved to knit, crochet, make blankets and cook. She loved her four-legged friends, Mia and Boo. Marianne was a very special lady who will be greatly missed by many. She is survived by two daughters, Rena Mae and her husband, Joseph Cote, of Lac Baker and North Fort Myers, Fla., and Ann Marie Thibodeau of Madawaska; one son, Paul Thibodeau and his wife, Joanne, of St. David; one daughter-in-law, Elaine Thibodeau of Madawaska; one brother, Roger Gagnon and his wife, Claire, of Carmel; six sisters, Aurore Chabre and Agathe Chabre, both of Van Buren, Claire LaBreque of Windsor, Conn., Adrienne Brumbaum of East Hartford, Conn., Omerine Gendreau and her husband, Elmer, of East Hartford, Conn., and Velma Castonguay and her husband, Herbert, of Van Buren; five grandchildren, Pamela, Timothy, Jacques, Tina, and Christine; 10 great-grandchildren, Stephen, Marisa, Joshua, Wyatt, Jacques II, Bradly, Ryan, Chase, Tyler and Meagan; many nieces, nephews and many, many wonderful friends and caregivers. Marianne was predeceased by her husbands, Alexander Dumond and Ned Thibodeau; her children, Ned Jr., Richard, Aline, Claude and Norman; brothers, Onizime, Channel, Ludger, Albert, Adrien and Robert; and sisters, Cloris, Corinne, Edwidge, Mazine and Albertine. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. David Church. Friends and relatives may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday until time of service at the Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be at the parish cemetery.
