VAN BUREN – Marie Mae Cyr, 76, died March 21, 2005, at a Van Buren nursing home. She was born May 12, 1928, in St. Quentin, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of John and Maime (Deveau) Cyr. She was employed as a nurses’ aide at Borderview Nursing Home in Van Buren for more than 15 years. Marie Mae is survived by four daughters, Esther Cavanaugh and her husband, Kevin, of Berwick, Doreen Faucher and her husband, Michael, of Hollis Center, Louella Henderson and her husband, Stan, of Plaster Rock, N.B., Canada, Michelle Ray and her husband, Michael, of Bangor; two sons, Glenn Cyr and his wife, Debra, of Brunswick, Wayne Cyr and his wife, Lynn, of Bangor; two brothers, Edgar and Eudore Cyr, both of St. Quentin, N.B.; three sisters, Sr. Yvonne Cyr of Bathurst, N.B., Yvette Pelletier of St. Leonard, and Lena Jepson of New Sweden; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her first husband, Laurier Cyr in 1980, her second husband, Anthony Long in 2003, and by a grandson, Eric Faucher, in 2002. Relatives and friends may call at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren, from 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery later this spring.
