WINTER HARBOR – Marie T. Workman, 87, wife of the late Allison W. Workman, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at a Bar Harbor hospital. She was born Oct. 31, 1918, in Winter Harbor, the daughter of Milton W. and Vera A. (Rolfe) Torrey. Marie was a graduate of Winter Harbor High School, Class of 1936. For several years, she worked as cashier at the Winter Harbor Food Service. Marie was a member of Ruby Lodge, O.E.S. in Winter Harbor. She and her husband spent many winters in Florida, beginning in 1975 and continuing until 1991. Marie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and enjoyed visiting with her children, grandchildren and friends. She is survived by three children, Ann Smith and her husband, Larry Sr., of Winter Harbor, Janice Myrick and her husband, David, of West Bay and Norman Workman and his wife, Jane, of Winter Harbor; a sister, Irene Smith and her husband, Roland, of Atkinson; a brother-in-law, Gordon Workman and his wife, Carmel, of Red Lion, Pa.; 11 grandchildren, Lori Andress (John), Larry E. Smith Jr. (Karen), Melanie Lundy (Marty), Lisa Tracey (Jason), J.R. Bridges (Liz), Tammy Marie Mann (Tom), Michael Bridges-Myrick (Laura), Bobby Myrick (Heather), Deana Archer (Michael), Wendy Woods (Fred), and Chuck Workman (Angel); 25 great-grandchildren, Kristy Tracey (Troy), Lori and Joshua Timmons, Andy, Mark, and Lee Smith, Kayla Ojeda, Kyle Depew, Ashley and Brandon Tracey, Matt and Ben Holmes, Nicholas and Heather Holt, Abbi and Emily Myrick, Sarah, Isabell and Zachary Myrick, Eric and Sean Archer, Katelyn Eaton, Alison and Amber Woods and Cameron Workman; two great-great-grand-children, Adam and Caroline Tracey; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Marie will also be missed by special friends, Frances Larson, Esther Coombs and Celia Dunham. In addition to her husband, Marie was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Everett Stewart and an infant great-great-grandson, Seth Evan Tracey. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Prospect Harbor Cemetery, off Route 186, Gouldsboro, with the Rev. William Sommerville officiating.
