WINTERPORT – Marilyn Ainsworth Hall, 72, passed away Aug. 12, 2005, at her home in Winterport, with her family by her side, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was a native of Amesbury, Mass. Upon her retirement, she moved to Cape Coral, Fla., for several years until residing in Winterport. She was a 1951 graduate of Amesbury High School and attended Essex Agricultural School. She was employed at Anna Jacques Hospital, Western Electric, and retired from Amesbury Hospital after 22 years. She was a member of the Main Street Congregational Church and had been a volunteer for the Amesbury Red Cross, Amesbury Public Library, and a Girl Scout leader. In Cape Coral, Fla., she was a volunteer for TLC (Tender Loving Care needy children) and was also one of the founding members of the Cape Coral Hospital Diabetic Support Group. In Winterport, she was a member of the Winterport Senior Citizens, the Winterport Historical Society, and also hand knitted and donated many hats to Cancer Care of Maine. She enjoyed spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren, and was always proud of her family’s achievements. With her family she climbed Mount Washington and Mount Chocorua and enjoyed walking, bike riding, bowling, travel, wild birds, riding motorcycles, camping, and hiking. She was a candy maker for many weddings, graduations, baby showers, and other special holiday events. She also enjoyed sewing and knitting many items for her family and friends. She spent her summers as a youth on Martha’s Vineyard and later enjoyed camping and blueberry picking at Hermit Island with her husband, children, and the family dog Sniffer. Her greatest moments were her 50th Wedding Anniversary with her children and grandchildren at the Old Salt in Hampton, N.H. and being an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, seeing the Red Sox win the World Series and Patriots win the Super Bowl in the same year. She is survived by her husband Kenneth of 53 years and five children, Donald Hall, Daryl Hall and wife, Elise, Douglas Hall and wife, Jayne, Darlene Hartt and husband, Wayne, all of Amesbury, Mass., and Dana Hall and wife, Patti, of Cape Coral, Fla. She is survived by 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her pet and companion cat, Lucky.
