BUCKSPORT – Marilyn G. Dunbar, 71, died unexpectedly March 23, 2008, at a Tennessee hospital from complications of pneumonia. Both of her daughters were at her side. She was born April 14, 1936, in Bucksport, daughter of Charles and Georgia (Harpe) Gifford. She graduated from Bucksport High School and Husson College. After more than 20 years of service, she retired from International Paper Co. in 1995, as a personnel services administrator in the human resources and organizational development department. She enjoyed cooking, playing bridge, antiques, genealogy, golfing and traveling. For many years, she enjoyed spending the winter months in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., with both her family and special friends. She and her husband were known for taking daily walks, both in Florida and in Bucksport. She was also an active member of Bucksport Historical Society. She was a lifetime member of Elm Street Congregational Church, Bucksport. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Keith Dunbar of Bucksport; two daughters, Juelle Clark and her husband, Robert Clark. of Collierville, Tenn., and Lynne Rose and her husband, Thomas Rose, of Clarksville, Tenn., five grandchildren, Evan Clark, Lauren Clark, Thomas Rose, Anneliese Rose and Tyler Rose; two brothers, Charles Gifford of Bucksport and Edward Gifford of Bucksport; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Those who wish to remember Marilyn in a special way may make donations to Elm Street Congregational Church, Bucksport. Memorial and graveside services will be scheduled at a later date and will be handled by Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, Bucksport.
