MOUNT DESERT ISLAND – Marilyn Joyce “Nim” Wheaton, 72, died Oct. 9, 2004, at an Ellsworth hospital with her daughters, Shari and Angela at her side. She was born July 13, 1932, in Tremont the daughter of the late Albert V. and Marion E. (Carter) McNaughton. MaMa was a simple woman who carried a heavy burden throughout her lifetime that very few realize. In the face of this she maintained her sense of humor and beautiful smile. She had a deep love for flowers, birds, the ocean and lakes. She loved to grow her gardens in earlier years and still enjoyed swimming at the age of 70. Her peace came from being outdoors. Early memories of her include her lullabies. MaMa will be terribly missed but her sorrows are eased. “Hush little baby – don’t you cry…” She was predeceased by her mother and father, her first husband and father of her children, Floyde C. Farley; her second husband, Nelson E. Wheaton; and her first born child, Floyde R. “Bobby” Farley. She is survived by her son, David C. Farley; six daughters, Joanne S. Brown, Phyllis “Diane” Benton, Shari L. Farley, Angela R. Lemoine, Lori L. Farley, and Heidi E. Redlon; four sisters, Lucille “Tillie” Bragdon, Grace Williams, Bessie “Betty” Gray, and Elizabeth “Libby” Farrell; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
