ELLSWORTH and BAR HARBOR – Marilyn L. Morrison, 75, wife of the late Walter A. Morrison, died unexpectedly July 10, 2008, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born Aug. 9, 1932, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of the late Harry M. and Beulah (Taite) Card. Marilyn was a beloved mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary No. 207 of Trenton. Her favorite pastime was spent attending charitable bean dinners, yard sales and the cruise-in at Jordan’s Snack Bar. She had several special friends at MCMH who meant so much to her. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Carol Phinney and her husband, Luman, of Ellsworth; a son, Walter D. Morrison of Edgartown, Mass.; two granddaughters, Nancy Golden and son-in-law, Shawn Grover of Ellsworth and Laura Phinney of Carmel; two grandsons, Robbie and Alex Morrison of Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.; five great-grandchildren, Megan Golden, Mathew Osier, Kanyon and Cody Grove, all of Ellsworth and Randi Marie Platt of Carmel. Also surviving Mary Lou is a longtime companion, Donald “Donnie” Osier of Frenchboro. Friends may call 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the service at DeDe Shields’ residence, 47 Ledgelawn Ave., Apt A, Bar Harbor.
