BANGOR – Marion I. Dow, 88, of Milford, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at a Bangor health care facility. Born Jan. 1, 1920, in Milford, she was the daughter of Paul and Ellen (Young) Parady. Marion graduated from Old Town High School. She married Walter G. Dow Sr., Jan. 22, 1945, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Bradley. She was a member of Holy Family Parish. She loved all babies, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending summers at Pushaw Lake with her family and spending her retirement years at their home in Zephryhills, Fla. She enjoyed cooking for her family and for others. She was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Marie Dow; a grandson, Douglas Walter Dow; and 10 siblings, Mabel Bilodeau, Florent Parady, Francis Parady, Madeline Charron, Lumena Smith, Imelda Oakes, Joseph Parady, Harry Parady, Lawrence Parady and Florence Emerson. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Walter Dow Sr.; a sister, Margaret Comeau of Old Town; a son, Walter Dow Jr. and his wife, Maureen, of Glenburn; a daughter, Ellen Dow Johndro and her husband, Roderick, of Milford; seven grandchildren, Tami Willis, Linda Wilson, Kevin Chessa, Jennifer Wilson, Mike Dow, Audrey Johndro and Amanda Thomas; eight great-grandchildren, Zackery Chessa, Bradley Wilson, Brady Wilson, Tyler Willis, Kamrin Thomas, Cassie Willis, Kadin Thomas and Allison Wilson; a sister-in-law, Inez Hayden and her husband, Linwood, of Florida; a brother-in-law, Herbert Dow of Argyle; and special friends and neighbors, Paul and Brenda Tucker. The family of Marion Dow wishes to extend their most sincere gratitude for all the wonderful care given by the staff of the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. A memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 4, at Holy Family Parish, Old Town, with Father Thomas Farley officiating. A luncheon will be held after the services in the fellowship hall.
