ORLAND – Marjorie D. (Brown) Soper, 78, of Orland, daughter of Eldusta (Herrick) and Erbern Brown, born in Brewer, April 28, 1927, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family, June 7, 2005. Marge was very loving and devoted to her family. She loved all of the family gatherings especially the barbecues. She truly loved the frequent visits from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as the many friends that stopped in often. Marge had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a good joke to tell. She felt so blessed to have the wonderful husband she had who stayed right by her side for more than 60 years. Marge is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Howard Soper of Orland; her sister, Elsie Dore of Brewer; her five children, Joyce Hanscom of Orland, Julie MacDonald and her mate, George Feeley of Orland, Barbara Varnum and her husband, Richard of Orland, Brenda Fowler and her husband, Tim of Brooksville, and Jeff Soper and his wife, Robin of Orland; her 12 grandchildren, Scott, Kelly, Patti, Greg, Mike, Jessi, Heidi, Kevin, Jenny, Chris, Josh, and Casey; her 20 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2005, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Visitation will be 2 p.m. until time of service. A gathering of conversation and refreshment will immediately follow the service at Marjorie and Howard’s home, 19 Dance Hall Road, Orland.
