PRESQUE ISLE – Marjorie E. Shaw, 68, died Monday morning, Feb. 12, 2007, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born June 4, 1938, in Ashland, the daughter of Everett and Odelle (Carney) Walker. She graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1955. Marjorie graduated from beautician school in Bangor. She worked in retail management, was a manager at Zayre’s and an assistant manager at Ames department stores, Presque Isle. She loved to play bingo, enjoyed life and spending time working on her computer. Marjorie had lived in Ellsworth for the past 11 years. She is survived by a daughter, Laura Stevenson and her husband, George, of Ellsworth; a grandson, Michael Stevenson of Franklin; a granddaughter, Katie Wixon and her husband, John, of Wilton. N.H.; a brother, Melvin Walker of Titusville, Fla.; two sisters, Pearl Soucy of Portage Lake and Ruth Orr of Delaware; two sisters-in-law, Jinny Walker of Granbury, Texas, and Callie Walker of Ashland; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Fran and Rodney Carney of Ashland and Lottie Ireland of Presque Isle. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Shaw in 1959. Graveside services will be held in May at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. Arrangements in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home.
