BANGOR – Marjorie Elizabeth (Lindie) Stewart, 66, wife of the late Ellis “Tex” H. Stewart Sr., passed away Sept. 22, 2006, with her son and daughter at her side, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Jan. 22, 1940, in Monson, daughter of Ruby Lillian (Crockett) Lindie. Marjorie graduated from Averill High School at Good Will School, Hickley in 1957, at the age of 17. She attended Husson College where she was a member of the choir. She was a manual bookkeeper for more than 40 years, working for the late Kenneth Cust, P.A. and the late Peter Willett, P.A.; the accounting firm of Loiselle and Beathan; and for Dave’s Furniture Store, until is closed April 2000. She became an Avon representative and sold Avon until July 2006. She made many good friends along the way. Marjorie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. A special thanks to her good friends, Larry and Sharon Sickles for all that they have done. Thanks to CancerCare of Maine and a special thanks to Dr. Hartz and Kathy B. Marjorie married Ellis Stewart Aug. 7, 1961. She is survived by their two loving children, a daughter, Cyndee and her husband, Tom Johnson, of Dover-Foxcroft; a son, Ellis Howell Stewart Jr.; a very special granddaughter, Brittany Diane Stewart, both of Milford; a special brother, who called Marjorie “baby sister” and sister-in-law, Bill and Betty Lindie of Waterville; nieces, nephews and cousins, stepgrandchildren and great-step-grand-children. She will be sadly missed by her dog, Chico; and her cat, Fuzzy. She was predeceased by her mother; two sisters, Madeline and Mary; and a brother, Harry. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Foleys Funeral Home, 299 Union St., Bangor, with the Pastor Paul Warf officiating. Graveside services for the family will be held at Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta, at a later date.
