BUCKSPORT – Paul D. Patterson, 43, died Sept. 23, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Sept. 18, 1963, in Melrose, Mass. Paul graduated from Bucksport High School, Class of 1982; attended Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute; and the University of Maine – Orono, where he majored in biology. Paul loved the outdoors, especially fishing, camping and hunting. He was dearly loved by his family and his kind and generous spirit was appreciated by his many good friends. In recent years, he was self-employed in Bucksport. In addition to his beloved dog, Buddy, he is survived by his mother, Norma Patterson of Englewood, Fla.; brother, Jay Patterson and wife, Leslie and their daughter, Carly, of Kittery; brother, Eric and his wife, Lisa and their daughter, Ella, of York; sister, Martha Patterson of Tulsa, Okla., and her daughter, Stevi and son-in-law, David Seamans, of Brewer; his grandmother, Marion Grindle of Bucksport; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Ronald Patterson in 2004. A memorial service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held later in October at Elm Street Congregational Church, Bucksport, at a date to be announced. Donations in Paul’s memory may be made to a new program being developed by the town of Bucksport. Contributions may be sent to Bucksport Youth Alcohol Diversion Program, P.O.
