CARIBOU – Marjorie Ruth Gagnon 81, wife of the late Bertrand Gagnon, died unexpectedly Jan. 6, 2006, at her Caribou residence. She was born Aug. 5, 1924, in Caribou, the daughter of Charles and Sybil (West) Parker. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Cary Medical Center Seniority Program and the Caribou Widows Support Group. Marjorie was a loving and devoted housewife and mother and truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at her home. She was an avid gardener and had won the Caribou Garden Clubs Best Home Garden Award. She is survived by two sons, Danny Gagnon and his special friend, Rena, of Cross Hill, S.C., Brent Gagnon and his wife, Diana, of Guyton, Ga.; four daughters, Erdine Rael and her husband, Joseph, of Ridgeland, S.C., Lela Lyons and her husband, Charles, of Caribou, Lumina Taylor and her special friend, Matt, of North Anson and Cheryl Bishop and her husband, Bob, of Caribou; one brother, Floyd Parker of Caribou; two sisters, Annie Lister of Caribou and Lela Pelkey of Bridgeton; her special friend and companion, Freeman Wright of Caribou; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gagnon was predeceased by her husband, Bert in 1996; her parents, two brothers, Dwinal Parker and Charles Parker Jr.; a sister, Addie Holmes; and a son-in-law, Steven Taylor. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 11, from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Raymond, officiating. Interment will be in the New Holy Rosary Cemetery.
