BRADLEY – Marlene Anne King, 65, passed away, Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at a Bangor hospital, after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving husband, Lloyd, and her three children, Rick, Kevin and Michele. Marlene was born Feb. 25, 1940. She was the daughter of Lucy (Blanchard) and Donald LaPlante of Bradley. She was a graduate of Old Town High School. Marlene was the proud grandmother of her two “baby girls” Courtney Anne, daughter of Rick and Lori King, and Madison Ann, daughter of Kevin and Wendy King. She was blessed with a caring family and many special and supportive friends who will remember her most for her keen sense of humor and spicy wit! Marlene was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and a proud participant of the Ladies of St. Ann. She took great pleasure in offering her services during Christmas fairs and especially enjoyed helping at special Olympic events. Marlene loved entertaining friends and family. She spent many evenings playing cards, board games and the like. She loved shopping for a great bargain! She was an avid bingo player, a big Red Sox fan and a devoted follower of the local high school basketball tournaments. She will be remembered by her immediate family as a devoted and loving mother and wife. Marlene is survived by her husband, Lloyd King; her son, Rick King, his wife, Lori (McLaughlin) King, and their daughter, Courtney Anne of Milford; son, Kevin King, his wife, Wendy (Hesseltine) King, and their daughter, Madison Ann of Bradley, her daughter, Michele King and Christopher J. Morin of Milford. She also leaves behind her brother and his wife, Bernard and Rita LaPlante of Old Orchard Beach. She will be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bradley, with the Rev. Paul Kerns, celebrant. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Bradley. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon, provided by the Ladies of St. Ann at St. Ann’s Parish Hall following interment.
