MARSHALL P. KELLEY JONESPORT – Marshall P. Kelley, 90, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at a Jonesport healthcare facility. He was born Sept. 19, 1913, on Head Harbor Island, Jonesport, the son of George H. and Gladys M. (Alley) Kelley. He was a sea captain on fishing vessels for the Jonesport Packing Co. and the North Lubec Canning Co. for many years. He was an Elder in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he served faithfully for many years. He was an administrator for the Resthaven Nursing Home, an EMT with the Jonesport Ambulance, and he worked with the Rod Miller Funeral Home. He is survived by a son, Paul Kelley and wife, Wilma, of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; two grandchildren, Daniel Kelley and wife, Jennifer, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sheri Shannon and husband, Dennis, of Westville, III.; three great-grandchildren, Sam and Madison Kelley of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Dennis Shannon Jr. of Westville, III.; three brothers, Carroll Kelley of Florida, Newman, and Norman and wife, Judy, all of Rhode Island; a sister, Ila Palmer and husband, William, of New Port Richey, Fla.; many nieces and nephews and cousins; and a beloved and devoted companion, Dorothy Alley and her family of Jonesport. He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Dorothy Gertrude (Foss) Kelley; and his second wife, Vera Sheehy Kelley; two sisters, Ida Beal and Emma Bridgham; and a brother, Forrest. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias. A graveside service will be held later in the spring.
