HOULTON – Martha H. (Tucker) Scott, 84 passed away peacefully Feb. 3, 2005, at a local hospital, surrounded by her loving children. She was born July 9, 1920, in Charlotte N.C., the daughter of James Parvin Tucker and Jessie Mae (Willis) Tucker. Martha was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her main purpose in life was to be loving and giving to her family and to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is remembered for her talent in baking and decorating many beautiful wedding and birthday cakes for many people in the area throughout the years. She was a Sunday school secretary for her church for many years in which she took great pride and pleasure in. She was a member of the Houlton Full Gospel Assembly for many years. She is survived by her children, Wayne C. Scott of Houlton, Margaret Dudley and her husband, Johnny, of Macon, Ga. and Houlton, and Kevin Scott and his wife, Nancy, of Hodgdon; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Sarah Scott of Hodgdon; grandson, John Swiger and his wife, Robin, of Ronceverte, W.Va.; several nieces, nephews, and great-stepgrand-children. She leaves behind a sister, Jeanne Swiger of Coolville, Ohio; and brothers, Vinton Tucker of Charlotte, N.C. and James Parvin Tucker Jr. of Mine Run, Va. and Washington, D.C. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ira S. Scott; and a sister, Elsie Cookman of Falls Church, Va. Martha was loved and admired by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St, Houlton. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Full Gospel Assembly Church with the Rev. Kevin Hatch officiant. A spring interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton.
