CHICAGO, ILL. and BANGOR – Mary Bohan McIsaac, 81, died April 15, 2005, in Chicago, Ill. She was born Dec. 11, 1923, in Evanston, Ill., the daughter of Jamison and Mary (Bohan) McIsaac. Mary graduated from Rosary College and taught several years in the Chicago School system. Following her deep interest in fine arts she received her Master’s Degree from Northwestern University and worked until retirement as an archivist at the Art Institute of Chicago. After retirement she continued volunteering countless hours at her beloved institution. Known by friends as “Queeno,” she was a long-time member of the Lyric Opera Guild Board of Directors; a tireless champion of the English Speaking Union; a sponsor of the British Home and Daughters of the British Empire. Next to the arts community Mary loved world travel with frequent trips to Israel, Egypt, Turkey, and always to her beloved New England. She is survived by cousins, the Ronald Cummings family of Windham and the Charles Dauphinee family of Bangor; and many loving friends in Chicago. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 6, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Lequin, pastor, presider. Burial will be held in the family lot at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Foley Funeral Service, Bangor.
